Who Can Benefit From Our Midtown Programs

At The Summit Wellness Group, we support professionals, young adults, veterans, LGBTQ individuals, seniors, and parents who are facing mental health challenges or evolving experiences with dual diagnosis. For adolescents, we ensure families have access to trusted partner programs that deliver age-appropriate care.

Our Atlanta mental health center is designed to assist anyone reaching out for support—whether you’re engaging with professional treatment for the first time or returning after previous efforts that didn’t quite align with your needs. We appreciate that the road to recovery can have its setbacks, and our specialized support groups are here for those who may have experienced a relapse or unexpected hurdles along the way.

Recognizing that each individual’s life circumstances are unique, we offer a range of tailored treatment options. Our partial hospitalization program provides intensive day treatment, ideal for those who can dedicate their full day to focused mental health care, ensuring a comprehensive, structured environment for healing.

For professionals or anyone balancing numerous responsibilities, our intensive outpatient program delivers flexible scheduling while still offering a robust, evidence-based approach to treatment.

There is no one-size-fits-all solution here. Our commitment is to meet you where you are in your journey, providing compassionate, personalized support that addresses both immediate concerns and long-term well-being.

The Summit Atlanta Mental Health Programs

The Summit Wellness Group’s mental health center in Atlanta features the following core addiction treatment programs:

    PHP

This is our most intensive level of outpatient care, featuring full day treatment from Monday through Friday.

    IOP

IOP provides clients with an exceptional level of healing while fitting into even the busiest of schedules.

    Outpatient

Our least restrictive level of care, but important for ongoing support prior to participation in our aftercare program.

Our Approach to Mental Health Treatment

At The Summit Wellness Group, we take an integrated approach to mental health care. Our programs combine the latest evidence-based therapies—like cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and trauma-focused counseling—with holistic practices such as mindfulness, yoga, and art therapy.

We also offer specialized support groups to help you connect with others who understand your journey.

To further personalize your care, we utilize advanced technologies like on-site brain mapping and biofeedback therapy, which can help you better understand and manage your mental health.

For those who may benefit, we provide medication-assisted treatment options, always tailored to your unique needs.

Our goal is to support your overall well-being with a comprehensive, compassionate approach.

While many Atlanta mental health treatment centers advertise holistic services, few deliver them. All of our holistic rehab therapies are offered on-site, at no additional cost to our clients:

    • Guided Meditation
    • Yoga Classes
    • Therapeutic Massage
    • Acupuncture
    • Chiropractic Care
    • Adventure Therapy
    • Music Therapy

At The Summit Wellness Group, our comprehensive curriculum includes a variety of daily groups designed to support your mental health journey.

These groups are a core component of our program, offering education, skills-building, and a supportive community. Depending on your individual care plan, you’ll participate in a tailored number of group hours each week.

Our support groups provide a safe and supportive space to learn, share, and connect with others on a similar path.

Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) is an integrated approach that combines counseling and behavioral therapies with medications to support individuals with mental health conditions and co-occurring substance use disorders.

In mental health care, MAT involves using medications to alleviate symptoms, manage mood, and improve overall functioning. These medications are carefully selected and monitored to ensure safety and effectiveness.

For example, antidepressants may be used to treat depression, while anti-anxiety medications can help manage anxiety disorders.

Our team works closely with you to determine if MAT is right for you, tailoring the approach to your specific needs and goals.

Biofeedback and brain mapping are mind-body techniques that use visual or auditory feedback to help individuals gain greater awareness and control over involuntary bodily functions—such as heart rate, breathing, muscle tension, and stress responses.

In mental health treatment, these tools can empower clients to better understand how their bodies react to stress, anxiety, or emotional triggers.

This increased self-awareness not only supports emotional regulation and relaxation but also allows therapists to tailor treatment plans more effectively to each person’s unique needs.

By integrating biofeedback and brain mapping, we help clients build practical skills for managing symptoms and improving overall well-being.

More About the Therapies Available at our Midtown Location

Psychological and behavioral therapies and methodologies continue to evolve with each passing year. The team of expert clinicians at our Midtown treatment center utilize the following therapies to treat mental health conditions.

    Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a widely recognized form of psychotherapy that focuses on identifying and changing unhelpful thinking, feeling, and behavior patterns. By working closely with a therapist at The Summit Wellness Group, you’ll learn to recognize negative or inaccurate thoughts and beliefs that contribute to emotional distress. CBT equips you with practical tools to challenge these thoughts, develop healthier coping strategies, and navigate challenging situations with greater confidence and resilience.

    Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a specialized type of therapy designed to help you develop skills for living a more balanced and fulfilling life. It focuses on staying present in the moment, regulating intense emotions, coping with stress in healthy ways, and improving your relationships with others. While originally developed for individuals with borderline personality disorder (BPD), DBT has proven effective for a wide range of mental health challenges.

    Group Therapy

Group therapy at The Summit Wellness Group offers a powerful and supportive environment for your mental health journey. Led by our experienced master’s-level clinicians, these sessions bring together individuals facing similar challenges to share experiences, offer encouragement, and learn from one another. Group therapy provides a unique opportunity to build connections, gain new perspectives, and develop coping strategies in a safe and confidential setting.

    EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a specialized form of psychotherapy designed to help individuals process and heal from traumatic experiences. During EMDR sessions, you’ll be guided to recall distressing images or memories while the therapist uses external stimuli, such as eye movements or tapping, to facilitate bilateral stimulation. This process helps to reduce the emotional distress associated with traumatic events and strengthen positive beliefs about yourself. While EMDR is particularly effective in treating anxiety and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), it can also be beneficial for individuals facing other mental health challenges.

    Experiential Therapy

Experiential therapy offers a unique and engaging approach to mental health treatment, using hands-on activities and experiences to help you connect with your emotions and break through communication barriers. This type of therapy is particularly beneficial if you find it challenging to talk about painful events or express deep feelings. Through activities like art, music, movement, or outdoor adventures, you can explore your emotions in a safe and supportive environment, fostering self-discovery and healing. Experiential therapy can help you gain new insights, build coping skills, and enhance your overall well-being.
