Leading Intensive Outpatient Program in Atlanta, GA

Seeking mental health support shouldn’t mean putting your life on hold. An Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) offers a flexible path to recovery, allowing you to integrate treatment into your daily routine. Our program provides a structured and supportive environment, guided by experienced mental health professionals. The flexibility of our IOP enables you to continue managing your responsibilities while prioritizing your mental well-being and engaging in transformative therapy.

Our Metro Atlanta IOP

Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOPs) provide effective outpatient support for various mental health challenges. While program quality can vary, leading IOPs offer qualified therapists, group therapy, holistic approaches, and a comprehensive curriculum designed to educate, promote healing, and foster a strong support system for individuals in early recovery or managing ongoing mental health conditions.

Intensive outpatient treatment is often a step-down from more intensive programs like inpatient care or partial hospitalization. It’s also an excellent option for individuals with external responsibilities who need flexible, accessible mental health support without disrupting their daily lives.

What To Expect At Our Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program

At The Summit Wellness Group, we offer several flexible IOP schedules to best support our clients’ mental health needs. Clients participate in this treatment track for three hours, three to five days a week, with morning, afternoon, and evening sessions available to fit diverse schedules.

Our program integrates a range of evidence-based therapies, including individual, family, and group sessions, alongside holistic options like meditation, yoga, or adventure therapy.

We are committed to ensuring that all clients, regardless of the number of hours, receive the highest quality of care.

Our programs typically last for three months, though the full outpatient treatment journey can extend to six months. We require 10-30 hours per week, with individual sessions lasting 1-2 hours, depending on the specific treatment approach.

Benefits of IOP

Personalization

Given the focused hours in our IOP programs, we prioritize tailoring each program to the client’s unique mental health needs. Considering their specific challenges and any co-occurring conditions, our treatment team collaborates with the individual to create a plan that accommodates their schedule and supports their holistic well-being—addressing mind, body, and spirit.

Flexibility

With three distinct programs offered throughout the day, we can accommodate even the most demanding schedules. At The Summit Wellness Group, we believe you should never have to sacrifice your mental well-being for your daily life.

Lower Cost

If the cost of treatment is a concern, an IOP may be a more accessible option compared to PHP or residential programs. With fewer hours involved, the daily cost is typically lower than more intensive levels of care, making it a financially viable path to mental wellness.

IOP Therapies Available at The Summit Wellness Group

Individual and group therapies are often the cornerstone of our intensive outpatient program in Atlanta, Georgia. With a focused treatment schedule, we prioritize using our time as effectively as possible. Our programs frequently include:

Individual Therapy

You’ll be paired with one of our experienced therapists (Master’s level or above) for at least one hour each week. In these individual sessions, you’ll explore underlying emotional challenges and other issues impacting your mental well-being. Together, you’ll develop a personalized plan for growth, address current challenges in your personal and professional life, and establish goals for ongoing support.

Group Therapy

Each track within our intensive outpatient program offers a diverse range of group therapy sessions. These groups focus on core issues related to mental health, coping strategies, building accountability through support networks, developing practical tools for well-being, addressing codependency, and more.

Family Therapy

Mental health challenges impact the entire family system. That’s why we place a strong emphasis on family support, including on-site family therapy guided by your individual therapist, as well as optional bi-weekly group sessions in the evenings.

Holistic Therapy

Our list of holistic rehab modalities offered to clients of our program includes massage, chiropractic care, guided meditation, yoga, adventure therapy, and nutritional classes.

What People Have To Say About The Summit Wellness Group’s Intensive Outpatient Rehab Programs

Kendall G.

The summit has been a lifesaver for me. I have been to one other iop program, and I came into the first day worried that it wouldn’t be helpful, but oh my goodness, I couldn’t have been more wrong. The groups are incredible, and the friendships and support that I have are a game-changer. I would advise if anyone is looking for an IOP program or any other programs to come to the summit!!! I look forward to going there three times a week (something I thought I would never say), and I am so grateful to have the summit as a part of my recovery journey.

If you’re looking for a top-notch facility to meet your clinical or mental health needs Summit is the IOP for you! The staff and clients are like no other. Their holistic and therapeutic approach are undoubtedly world class. From entering the facility and being greeted by Bryson, who went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable, to the therapists going out of their way to make sure my needs were being met. The clean environment and pristine facility is just the icing on the cake!

Lilly L.

I attended summit IOP in Midtown for three months and graduated a couple weeks ago. Summit Wellness center is the ONLY iop that has ever truly worked for me. I’ve been to countless treatment centers, IOP programs, Inpatient Treatments and sober living houses, and out of everything I’ve tried I highly recommend Summit above all. The staff here truly cares about all the clients and it shows. They were so helpful with every area of my life. They truly helped me figure out so many things when I felt helpless, lost and broken when I arrived.

Our Other Midtown Atlanta Mental Health Treatment Programs

In addition to our Intensive Outpatient Program, we offer several other levels of mental health care. Our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) provides a more comprehensive level of support, typically involving around 30 hours per week, and is often recommended before stepping down to IOP.

After completing IOP, many clients transition to Outpatient Treatment, which is usually the final phase of our structured care. While clients are encouraged to participate in aftercare programs, Outpatient Treatment marks the completion of the formal treatment process.

Before starting any of our programs, clients must be in a medically stable condition. Sometimes, this means beginning with a stay in a medical stabilization or detox center, especially if there are concerns about physical health or substance withdrawal.

Even after stabilization, some individuals may experience lingering symptoms, and in these cases, a short-term inpatient program may be recommended. Pairing IOP with a supportive living environment can also be beneficial for ongoing recovery.
